Etna Alcantara Day

Updated: Mar 23

Etna Alcantara Day is the perfect excursion for those who want to visit two natural sites of great interest on the same day.

-What does the service include?

There will be a transfer from Milo or from a place to be agreed upon -with a comfortable 9-seater minibus authorised to transport passengers- to the starting point of the hike.

The morning will be dedicated to trekking and discovering the Sartorius side craters. These eruptive apparatuses are a magnificent manifestation of the power and uniqueness of Etna volcano. There are about 250 unique and unrepeatable craters.

Etna is an active volcano, the highest of all European volcanoes, and has been a Regional Park since 1987. It has also been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013, and has become one of Italy's four UNESCO sites.

Your environmental hiking guide will tell you about the geology, history, myths and culture of the place. After the trek, your guide will lead you inside a volcanic cave.

In the afternoon, with a comfortable minibus, we will transfer to the Alcantara Valley, a place of great charm and beauty.

Together with your Nature Guide you will discover these places closely linked to the volcano. It is no coincidence that the Alcantara Gorge were born during a lateral eruption of Mount Etna.

This magnificent place is accessible via the access steps to the beach. From there, it will be possible to do some river hiking and admire the colonial basalts formed around 10,000 years ago.

At the end of this visit, you will be accompanied by a comfortable minibus to the agreed location.
