Etna Full Day

Updated: Mar 23

Etna Full Day is aimed at those who would like to spend a full day on Europe's highest volcano and get to know its main aspects.

-What does the service include?

There will be a transfer from Milo or from a place to be agreed upon - with a comfortable 9-seater minibus authorised to transport passengers - to the starting point of the trek.

The morning will be dedicated to discovering the Sartorius side craters. These eruptive apparatuses are a magnificent manifestation of the power and uniqueness of Etna volcano. There are some 250 unique and unrepeatable craters.

Etna is an active volcano, the highest of all European volcanoes, and since 1987 it has become a Regional Park. In addition, since 2013 it has been recognised by Unesco as a World Heritage Site, and has become one of the four Unesco nature sites in Italy.

Your Environmental Hiking Guide will tell you about the geology, history, myths and culture of the place, and decide which type of trekking to do on the Sartorius, depending on the level of the participants. After the hike up the Sartorius craters, your guide will lead you inside a volcanic cave, depending on the safety conditions.

Afterwards, in the afternoon, you will visit the Etna Nord ski resort of Piano Provenzana, and the places where the lava flow during Etna's last spectacular side eruption -year 2002- wiped out part of the Ragabo pine forest and the winter resort itself.

At the end of the service, you will be accompanied by a comfortable minibus to the agreed location.

"Don't miss the opportunity to spend an educational day on Etna in good company and accompanied by a professional".
