Madonie. The Sicilian Dolomites

Updated: Feb 26, 2023

Sicily is a small continent, so different from east to west that it is hard to recognise it as an island.

Not far from Palermo, there is the Madonie Regional Park. The trails within the park are dedicated to novice walkers as well as the more experienced and demanding.

These range from the trail of Carbonara peak at an altitude of 1964 metres, considered the highest mountain in Sicily, to that or the Deer's mountain trail, characterised by the presence of fallow deer, or the Angel's valley trail, renowned for the presence of the Nebrodi fir, a rare and autochthonous species.

Don't forget to visit the Madonie villages. Petralia Soprana and Sottana, Ganci, Polizzi Generosa, Castelbuono, Cefalù, and many others..

"At the end of a day spent in nature we will definitely be better off".
